Job Posting 

The Jordan’s Principal Writer works in conjunction with the Service Coordinator through outreach and assists families with individual, group and capital funding submissions for funding. This position will assist Jordon’s Principal Service Coordinator and ensure all opportunities related to funding applications are submitted. At this time, this opportunity may entail completing large submissions for the community of Apitipi Anicinapek Nation.

 

Duties:

 

·         Assist in the application for Jordan’s Principle funding on behalf of clients. Requests for application may come from individuals and applicable heath care service providers, community organizations.

·         Complete large funding submissions as identified by children and families within the community

·         Support a child and family-centered approach to coordinating and connecting services

·         Act as a liaison and provide education and information sessions to community & staff in relation to Jordan’s Principle

·         Work in collaboration and partnership with the Jordon’s Principle Service Coordinator to ensure that all individual, group and capital funding requests related to Jordan’s Principle are submitted.

·         Participate in internal or external committees as required or requested

·         Liaise and work effectively with the communities served, service providers, collateral agencies and organizations, elders

·         Uphold confidentiality and safe keeping of all documents and records

·         Develop and maintain work files that are accurate, up-to-date, and concise

·         The ability to build relationships with families and community service agencies to effectively understand unmet needs of children and youth.

·         Liaise and work effectively with the communities served, service providers, collateral agencies and organizations, elders

·         Deadlines will be met and follow ups on a regular basis once the applications are submitted, appeals may be done if necessary.

 

 

 

 

Required Qualifications :

·         Degree/Diploma in Business, Administration, Health or Social Work; or a combination of relevant education and 1 year working experience in related field.

·         Experience with organizing and coordinating community meetings

·         Excellent oral and written communication skills.

·         Ability to establish priorities.

·         Strong writing and reporting skills.

·         Great research and analytical skills an asset

·         Sharp attention to detail

·         Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to multitask.

·         Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

·         Ability to meet deadlines on time and/or as directed.

·         Experience with Microsoft 365, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams

·         Must be highly motivated, reliable, and committed

·         Effective oral and written communication skills

·         Collaborative team player, contributing positively to team success.

·         Flexible and adaptable attitude that can change with priorities.

·         High levels of integrity and ethical behavior.

·         Possesses a strong attention to detail and tact.

·         G Class Driver’s License required

·         Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check will be required.

 

Assets

·         Valid First Aid/CPR

·         Mental Health First Aid Certificate

·         Crisis Intervention Training: ASSIST Training, Safe Talk Training, Peer Support Counselling

·         Knowledge of both Indigenous and Non-Indigenous resources, services providers,  groups, and programs that are in the district

 

Working conditions

•       This is a full-time position, and the working hours are from Monday to Friday, 7-hour days may include weekends maximum 35 hours a week. Additional hours may be necessary for the proper performance of the Employee’s duties.
