Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Director of Finance:

Duties
• Perform all the administrative duties for the Department.
• Maintain department filing system, scan all invoices, receipts and various other departmental documents into Laserfiche folders.
• Set up and maintain Letters of Credit and holdbacks inventory for City contracts.
• Responsible for processing payments via Electronic Fund Transfers (EFT) and cheques for Quickrite payments.
• Scan all invoices, receipts and various other departmental documents into Laserfiche folders.
• Act as timekeeper for the department, maintain attendance schedule and balance with HR department.
• Reconcile various spreadsheets and working papers to GL accounts.
• Required to participate and support the City of Timmins Continuous Improvement Program in order to help foster a culture of operational excellence.
• Record and prepare minutes of meetings as required.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Two-year Community College diploma in Business or Accounting or a combination of education and experience acceptable to the Employer.
• Two-year bookkeeping and experience in computerized financial systems.
• Completion of AMCT Program considered an asset.
• Proven ability to work well with others.
• Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio) and experience with document imaging software.
• Accounting skills, knowledge and ability required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Bilingual (English/French) considered an asset.
• Current and Clear Criminal Record Check with Judicial Matters Check required.
