Position Overview:
• Under the direction of the Director of Long-Term Care & Senior Services, the Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to residents and oversees care given by Registered Practical Nurses and Personal Support Workers. The individual also maintains order, discipline and efficiency of personnel under his/her direction.
• Hours of work: Varies, including weekdays, weekends, evenings, and nights.
• Compensation: $38.76 per hour, as per ONA Collective Agreement.
• Reason: Leave of absence
Minimum Qualifications:
• Graduate of an approved School of Nursing Program.
• Currently registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Experience in geriatrics, rehabilitation and psychology, an asset or a successful completion of relative courses.
• Ability to work independently in the care of residents.
• Demonstrated application of problem-solving, decision-making, and critical thinking skills to resident care.
• Must have an excellent work record, including attendance.
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, Staff and other health care professionals.
• Must support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in this organization.
• Provide clear criminal record check.
