About this opportunity:
York Region Educational Services (YRES) is dedicated to leading community volunteerism as a proud recipient of Canada's Volunteer Award, through providing a wide range of volunteer positions in communities in the Greater Vancouver Area, Greater Toronto Area, Ottawa, and Alberta. We are looking for a Market Research Assistant Volunteer: someone devoted to giving back to their community, making an impact, and who loves observing market trends.
The Market Research Assistant is responsible for:
- Develop and implement marketing strategies and campaigns to promote programs, events, and organizational initiatives
- Manage social media accounts, website content, and digital communications to increase engagement and visibility
- Create marketing materials including newsletters, brochures, posters, and presentations
- Conduct market research and analyze data to inform marketing decisions and measure campaign effectiveness
- Coordinate events, outreach initiatives, and promotional activities to build community awareness and participation
- Collaborate with staff, partners, and vendors to ensure consistent branding and messaging
- Monitor marketing performance metrics, preparing reports and recommendations for management
- Support public relations and communications efforts, including media relations and community engagement

Requirements:
- Passionate about volunteering and open to learning new skills and software
- Complete training prior to start date

Assets:
- Fluency/high proficiency in a language other than English
