About the Role:

Carman Construction is looking for a dedicated and skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our maintenance team. This full-time, permanent role is based on-site at the Go West Mine, located in the Timmins, Ontario area.

You will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of our heavy equipment fleet—including Komatsu, Volvo, and CAT machinery—and play a key role in ensuring our fleet operates at peak performance in a challenging and rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform planned maintenance and repairs on a variety of heavy equipment
• Read and understand equipment plans, operator manuals, and technical documentation
• Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently
• Handle fueling, greasing ,and cleaning duties
• Ensure returning equipment is ready for the next job
• Oversee and inspect junior staff’s work for accuracy and quality
• Maintain accurate paper work and inventory of tools
• Assist with general Labour duties and lead by example in safety and performance

Requirements: 
• Heavy Duty Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic ,or Millwright experience preferred
• Industrial maintenance experience required
• Valid DZ license is an asset
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics ,diesel  engines ,electrical systems, and fuels/lubricants
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical ,electrical, and hydraulic schematics
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Physically able to work in tight spaces and in all weather conditions
• Proven reliability and ability to work independently
