Position Summary

We are currently seeking an organized and creative Communications and Events Coordinator to join our corporate team. This position plays a key role in supporting marketing, communications, and event initiatives across all companies. 

The successful candidate will assist with brand promotion, public engagement, event coordination, and the creation of marketing and communication materials, while ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms.

Key Responsibilities

The Communications and Events Coordinator will be responsible for the following:

  • Assist in the development and execution of marketing strategies

  • Represent the organization at tradeshows, conferences, and community events, engaging with clients, partners, and stakeholders

  • Design and create marketing materials including flyers, brochures, banners, and digital content for social media platforms

  • Update and maintain company websites with current information, event announcements, and promotional campaigns

  • Coordinate event logistics including scheduling, venue setup, vendor communication, and on-site support

  • Support social media management by creating content, scheduling posts, and monitoring engagement

  • Assist with the preparation of press releases, newsletters, and other public relations materials

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent branding and messaging across all divisions

  • Conduct market research to identify opportunities for business development and community engagement

  • Provide administrative and on-site support during events to ensure smooth operations

Qualifications

We are seeking a candidate who brings strong organizational skills, creativity, and professionalism. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Post-secondary education in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Event Management, or a related field, considered an asset

  • Previous experience in communications, marketing, event coordination, or a similar role

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience managing and creating content for social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok

  • Experience with editing software for photo and video content, considered an asset

  • Basic knowledge of website content management systems and digital tools

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with design or editing tools is an asset

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

  • Confidence representing the organization in public and professional settings

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment

  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends and travel as required

Work Conditions

The position is based at the O’Briens Corporate Group head office in Kapuskasing, with occasional regional travel required to support events, tradeshows, and community initiatives. Regular hours are Monday to Friday during daytime business hours, with flexibility required to accommodate event schedules. The work environment is professional, collaborative, and fast-paced, with opportunities for growth as the organization continues to expand.

Compensation

The hourly wage for this position ranges from $22.50 to $25.50 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
