Full-Time -  35/40 hours a week

OBrien's Butcher Market is a well-established butcher market dedicated to providing the highest quality products and exceptional customer service. With a focus on locally sourced, ethically raised products, we take pride in offering a wide selection of premium cuts to our discerning clientele.

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Butcher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the art of butchery, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering top-notch products. If you have a strong background in meat cutting, a dedication to quality, and a desire to excel in a fast-paced retail environment, we want to hear from you.

Task will include but not limited to the following:

·         Perform meat cutting, trimming, and portioning according to customer preferences and specifications.

·         Ensure all meat products meet quality standards in terms of freshness, appearance, and texture.

·         Use butchery tools and equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, saws, and meat grinders.

·         Package meat products neatly and securely, adhering to packaging and labeling guidelines.

·         Present meat products attractively in display cases and ensure the cleanliness and organization of the butchery department.

·         Provide friendly and knowledgeable assistance to customers, answering questions, making recommendations, and fulfilling special requests.

·         Monitor inventory levels of meat products and supplies, conduct regular stock counts, and replenishing items as needed.

 

The ideal candidate will possess the following education, skills & abilities:

·         Proven experience as a Butcher or similar role in a retail or wholesale environment.

·         Knowledge of meat cutting techniques, meat types, and butchery equipment.

·         Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with customers.

·         Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of product quality and presentation.

·         Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

·         Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices, with a focus on maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment.

·         Physical stamina and strength to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects as required.
