Position Overview
Tourism Cochrane is seeking an organized and enthusiastic Tourism Operations Coordinator to support the day-to-day operations of the Cochrane Tourism Association (CTA). Working from the Cochrane Board of Trade office, this position will welcome visitors, promote local attractions, assist with tourism marketing initiatives, and provide administrative support to the Association.
Position Details
Job Title: Tourism Operations Coordinator
Location: Cochrane, Ontario
Hours: 20 hours per week (3 days per week)
Rate of Pay: $21.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities
• Greet visitors and provide information on local attractions, accommodations, events, and services. • Promote Cochrane as a tourism destination through positive visitor engagement. • Assist with day-to-day administrative operations of the CTA.
• Maintain visitor information displays, brochures, maps, and promotional materials. • Update the Tourism Cochrane website with current attractions and events. • Create and schedule content for social media, newsletters, and promotional channels. • Develop promotional materials including the Visitor Guide, brochures, maps, and marketing resources.
• Liaise with local businesses, tourism operators, and community organizations. • Assist with tourism product development and special events.
• Manage Tourism Cochrane merchandise inventory and sales.
• Respond to visitor inquiries by phone, email, social media, and in person. • Perform general office and administrative duties as required.
Qualifications
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office, websites, social media platforms, and basic office technology. • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently.
• Interest or experience in tourism, marketing, hospitality, communications, or community development is an asset.
• Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset.
