Northern College is seeking a Student Resource Coordinator in our Advising department. The successful candidate will possess well-developed analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. Along with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, the incumbent will possess the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced office environment. They will be proficient with computer software such as MS Office Suite, including MS Excel, and databases and management information system.

Reporting to the Timmins Campus Manager, the successful candidate will provide logistical support in the advancement of three areas: introducing new students to Northern College prior to and upon arrival, securing off-campus housing and student life on campus. The incumbent also provides administrative support to the Advising Department.
What you will be doing:
- Develop and maintain an introduction to “Northern College” package that would include, pre-arrival information, and orientation planning with Northern College Student Association (NCSA), Advisors, and the Student Activity Coordinator;
- Provide relevant information regarding academic relationships with key staff including faculty and coordinators;
- Be available to students during the initial introduction to the communities and to the college environment
- Develop and maintain a network of property owners and householders open to renting space to college students
- Promote regional housing opportunities to all college students, domestic or International, in an effective manner, easily visible and accessible on or off our campuses.
- Provide administrative support services required for the Timmins Advising Department
- Plan and execute annual events and celebrations with the Student Activity Coordinator, Student Advisors and NCSA Members; and
- Be responsible for advertising and promoting the activities and services of the Advising Department.

What you will need to be considered:
- 2-year diploma in Business, Human Resources, Office Administration, Social Service Worker, Early Childhood Educator, General Arts and Sciences or related/relevant field of study; and
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working directly with students with the ability to use office equipment and all Microsoft Office programs.
The incumbent may be required to provide a criminal record check.
