Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

· Position Summary: Provides emergency care to individuals of all ages; outpatient minor surgery and fracture clinic services; and rapid assessment consultation services to patients and their families (family is defined by the patient) in the Timmins and District area, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team within the hospital.
Position Requirements:
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and a thorough knowledge of the principles and techniques associated with emergency nursing and outpatient care.
- Recent ER experience is considered an asset; a minimum of one-year general medicine/surgical/ICU experience will also be considered.
- Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated performance and current certification in BCLS, ACLS and PALS. Current competence, care and maintenance of all central vascular access devices, arrhythmia interpretation and the Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (C.T.A.S.).
- Consideration will be given to other courses, Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum, ENO certification, Apex innovations.
- Must have ability to organize work according to priorities and to adjust this prioritization as required.
- Must have excellent assessment, communication and observational skills.
- Must be able to perform physical demands of the position.
- Must possess the ability to work in a highly paced, stressful environment.
- Must have a good work ethic and work record demonstrating regular attendance at work.
- Must be able to do shift work (days and nights).
- Must possess the ability to provide effective services to clients/patients in both English and French. Individuals who do not meet the language requirements of this post are invited to submit their resume for future consideration.

- Starting salary of $39.07/hour; $76,186.50/year (As per Step 1 of the ONA collective agreement.)
- Option to enroll in Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan.
