Programs and Engagement Manager

Seizure & Brain Injury Centre                   Timmins, ON

Position Type: Full-Time (35 Hours/week)              Salary Range: $26.50-29.50/hr

Position Overview

The Programs and Engagement Manager is responsible for overseeing the Centre’s programs and services, ensuring quality, consistency, and accessibility for all participants. This role manages client intakes, supervises students and staff, facilitates support groups, provides program coverage as needed, and supports fundraising and special project initiatives. The ideal candidate is highly organized, people-focused, and able to balance program delivery with administrative responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Client Support & Intakes

  • Conduct intakes for all new client participants, including completing intake and release of information forms.
  • Provide information on all Centre programs and services, ensuring clients are aware of available supports.
  • Complete referral forms when deemed necessary and connect clients to appropriate services.
  • Supports client goal setting, filling forms, attending appointments etc, and training other staff on these tasks.

Program Oversight & Supervision

  • Supervise and provide guidance to college and university placement students.
  • Oversee Centre programs to ensure smooth delivery and consistency.
  • Provide program coverage as required, stepping in when staff are absent or additional support is needed.
  • Facilitate and run support groups as needed to meet client needs.
  • Ensure staff are accurately completing client charting and documentation.
  • Monitor and maintain program statistics, ensuring data is tracked and reported appropriately.
  • Supervise Program and Engagement & Development staff.
  • Review client satisfaction surveys.

Community Engagement & Fundraising

  • Participate in bingo and other fundraising initiatives as part of the Centre’s sustainability effort when needed.
  • Support and coordinate with Community Engagement & Development Coordinator to ensure the centre engages in community engagement and public health activities to promote awareness of the Centre’s services.

Administrative & Development

  • Support social media initiatives.
  • Contribute to special projects and grant opportunities as directed by the Executive Director.
  • Assist with program evaluations, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and relevant standards.
  • Support ED in creating new policies and procedures when needed.
  • Manage staff time off requests.
  • Support interview process, and yearly performance evaluations.
  • Support ED with staff training opportunities and ensuring compliance.
  • Review incident reports with ED and determine next steps.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social services, community engagement, psychology, or related field.
  • Experience in program management, community services, or client support.
  • Experience facilitating support groups or group programming is an asset.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience supervising staff, students, or volunteers.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Comfortable working flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends for programs or fundraising activities.

Assets

  • Experience with intake processes and client referrals.
  • Knowledge of non-profit fundraising initiatives (such as bingo operations).
  • Familiarity with reporting and evaluation tools for community programs.
