About the
Role:
We are seeking a motivated and community-minded student to join our team as an Office Assistant through the Canada Summer Jobs program. This position offers a dynamic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in event planning, community engagement, and administrative support while contributing to meaningful local initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
· Research potential fundraising activities and provide recommendations
· Organize a “Day of Caring” event for corporate partners and funded agencies
· Assist in the planning and execution of summer events
· Update and maintain the volunteer database, including opportunities and participating organizations
· Connect with local service providers to create and update 211 listings
· Attend and support events hosted by funded partners
· Identify and seek potential sponsorship opportunities for events
Qualifications:
· Strong organizational and time management skills
· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
· Detail-oriented with basic administrative skills
· Comfortable conducting research and outreach (phone, email, in person)
· Interest in community development, nonprofit work, or event planning is an asset
Eligibility
Requirements:
Applicants must meet the Canada Summer Jobs criteria, including:
· Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
· Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred
· Be legally entitled to work in Canada
