Northern College is seeking a Northern College Student Association (NCSA) Coordinator in our Student Services department. The successful candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills and have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Mental Health First Aid Certification, Mental Health Awareness Training, or Workplace Mental Health Training is considered an asset.

Reporting to the Executive Director, Student Services, Institutional Research and Registrar the successful candidate will provide operational, administrative, and advisory support to the Northern College Student Association (NCSA) college-wide. The Coordinator is a non-voting member of the Association who ensures continuity, accountability, and compliance with Student Executive Council (SEC) constitution and SEC & NCSA bylaws.
What you will be doing:
- Provide support for NCSA governance & oversight including, attending all NCSA meetings; monitoring and ensuring student leaders maintain eligibility and fulfill their responsibilities;
- Ensure financial management and compliance by overseeing adherence to financial policy, ensuring purchases follow required processes and documentation, monitoring budgets, tracking expenses, and presenting monthly updates with the NCSA Director of Finance;
- Provide support for elections and membership;
- Ensure consistency of student life and event support by assisting student leaders in planning and executing events and activities;
- Provide support for Administration & Communication by liaising between the NCSA, College administration, and external partners, supporting NCSA communications (social media, newsletters, and official reporting), and correspondence as required; and
- Provide student support and mentorship by mentoring and coaching student leaders in governance, leadership, and event management.

What you will need to be considered:
- Two (2) year diploma in Business, Office, Public Administration, Education, Student Affairs or a related/ relevant field of study;
- 3 years of experience in student services, non-profit management, event planning or financial administration; and
- Knowledge of governance, budgeting and election processes is required.
