POSITION SUMMARY:
Coordinates medical transportation and processes NIHB medical travel entitlements, ensuring accurate
documentation and timely client support. This role also assists with reception coverage and facilitates
communication between clients, healthcare providers, and staff to support efficient and coordinated care.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Grade 12 diploma required; post-secondary education in Office or Health Administration is an
asset
• Experience in administrative or healthcare settings preferred; medical transportation or NIHB
experience is an asset
• Strong organizational, data entry, and record management skills with high attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with EMR systems is an
asset
• Knowledge of NIHB medical travel processes, privacy, and confidentiality standards is preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a client-centered approach
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively within a team
• Understanding of First Nations health services and cultural approaches to care is an asset
• Ability to communicate in Ojibway, Cree, or Oji-Cree is an asset
• Valid CPR and First Aid certification required
• Clear Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Check, required
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Coordinate medical transportation and process NIHB travel benefits in compliance with
applicable guidelines and policies.
• Support clients with travel arrangements and provide clear guidance on processes and required
documentation.
• Maintain accurate records, files, and reports to ensure program accountability and compliance.
• Provide administrative support and reception coverage as needed.
• Liaise with clients, healthcare providers, and service partners to ensure timely and coordinated
care.
• Collaborate with the Health Services team and perform other duties as required.
