Northwaters & Langskib is excited to welcome a dedicated and proactive Head Cook to our Lake Temagami island base camps this summer. This full-time, seasonal position runs June through August/September. The Head Cook is responsible for preparing three homemade, nutritionally balanced meals daily for varying numbers of campers and staff, ranging from approximately 10 to 60, while accommodating a diverse range of dietary requirements.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a mature, self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic. The ideal candidate will have experience cooking for large groups, be comfortable living in a communal summer camp environment, and enjoy working collaboratively in a dynamic, nature-focused setting.

What You’ll Need

• At least three months of prior experience cooking for camps, schools, or other large groups.
• Experience in preparing meals for large numbers, including menu planning and food preparation.
• Knowledge of specialty diet menus, including vegetarian, vegan, and allergy accommodations.
• Strong understanding of nutrition and dietary requirements.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Experience managing budgets, inventory, menu planning, and scheduling.
• Current Food Safety Certification.
• Comfort with communal living in a summer camp environment.
• A hard-working and proactive attitude.

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have, but Not Required)

• Pleasure Craft Operator Card and motorboat handling proficiency.

Contract Details

• Preferred start date: June 10, 2026.
• Contract duration: June 10 – August 20, 2026 (with the possibility of extension through September 30).
• Flexibility for time off during non-peak periods, with extended shifts during busier times.
