JTR IS HIRING – FIELD SUPERVISOR

Joelle’s Technical Resources & Custom Works Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Field Supervisor to join our growing team in Timmins, Ontario.

We are looking for a dependable, safety-focused, and experienced individual who can effectively lead crews and oversee field operations at various industrial and mining sites.

This is a hands-on leadership position. The successful candidate must be comfortable working alongside the crew when required while providing strong supervision, planning, communication, and accountability in the field.

Key Responsibilities

The Field Supervisor will be responsible for:

  • Supervising and coordinating employees assigned to field projects.
  • Providing clear daily work assignments and ensuring employees understand the scope of work.
  • Planning and organizing manpower, tools, equipment and materials required for each job.
  • Conducting or participating in pre-job meetings, FLRAs/field-level risk assessments, toolbox talks and other required safety documentation.
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with JTR policies, client requirements and applicable health and safety legislation.
  • Monitoring the quality and progress of work throughout each shift.
  • Ensuring employees follow site-specific rules, procedures and permit requirements.
  • Maintaining professional communication with JTR management, employees and client representatives.
  • Identifying hazards, delays, equipment concerns and other issues and communicating them promptly to management.
  • Ensuring incidents, near misses, injuries, property damage and safety concerns are reported immediately and properly documented.
  • Monitoring employee performance, attendance, conduct and compliance with company expectations.
  • Ensuring employees use the appropriate PPE, tools and equipment for assigned tasks.
  • Coordinating with Operations regarding scheduling, manpower requirements and changes to the scope of work.
  • Ensuring company vehicles, tools and equipment assigned to the crew are properly used and cared for.
  • Reviewing and submitting required field documentation and timesheets accurately and on time.
  • Supporting training and mentoring of apprentices and less-experienced employees.
  • Leading by example and promoting a positive, respectful and safety-focused workplace.
  • Performing other field and supervisory duties as required.


Qualifications & Experience

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience in an industrial, construction, mining, millwright or welding environment.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial and/or mining-site operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate field crews.
  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions, drawings, procedures and job scopes as applicable.
  • Strong planning, organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with employees, management and clients.
  • Ability to complete field documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Ability to work independently and make appropriate decisions in the field.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities and work under pressure.
  • Valid driver’s licence with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to various job sites and work different shifts depending on project requirements.

Relevant trade experience or certification in millwrighting, welding, fabrication, or another industrial trade would be considered a strong asset.

Mining experience and previous experience supervising crews on active industrial sites would also be considered strong assets.
