PART-TIME CHILDREN’S LIBRARY CLERK

Pay - $20.27

Job type – Part-time

Shift and Schedule – Saturdays as needed and Afternoon shift

Location – 10 Kirkland Street East, Kirkland Lake, ON

Teck Centennial Public Library is seeking an individual who thrives in a culture of change, creativity, and progression as a Circulation/ Services Clerk. The ideal candidate will be adaptable to our evolving Library services and programs and enthusiastic about making a positive impact on the Library and our Community as one.

Reporting to the Library CEO, the Circulation/ Services Clerk performs circulation and reference duties utilizing the library’s online software applications, assists the Children’s Librarian with services, serves patrons, and ensures a welcoming environment at the Library to encourage and promote the library’s mission, services, and children’s programs.

• Effective verbal and written communications and interpersonal skills
• Reasonable judgment in a professional setting
• Effectively apply technology to library services and programs
• To carry out a range of circulation activities, including registration, collecting fees
• Ability to respond effectively to a range of library service inquiries and resolve complaints
• Ability to perform routine manual or clerical tasks and maneuver book carts and lift boxes up to 40 pounds
• Ability to handle and account for cash and to prepare bank deposits
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to deal with the public and handle problems as they arise
• Perform multiple tasks concurrently
• Ability to work effectively independently and as a team member
• Attention to detail.
