Location: CPE Pidaban, Temiskaming First Nation (Notre-Dame-Du-Nord)

Status: Permanent position, full-time (35 hours / week)

About the CPE:
CPE Pidaban welcomes children aged 0 to 5 in a nurturing environment rooted in anicinabe culture. Our educational approach is inspired by the Programme éducatif pour les services de garde du Québec and focuses on nature, community connections, home languages, and cultural respect. Each child is supported in their overall development: physical, motor, social, emotional, cognitive, and language.

Position Summary:
Under the authority of the Director of the childcare centre, the Assistant Director supports the educational team and ensure the quality of pedagogical practices. They oversee the implementation of the educational program and ensure that children benefit from a safe, engaging, and culturally appropriate environment. They work in collaboration with all members of the team.

Responsibilities and tasks:
*Support RSGEs in implementing the educational program and ensuring educational quality
*Provide personalized pedagogical coaching to educator
*Plan and coordinate special activities
*Participate in staff evaluations and recommend follow-ups
*Identity team training needs and propose relevant options
*Lead team meetings and promote open communication
*Fill temporary staffing needs and supervise replacement staff in the performance of their duties and responsibilities
*Draw up schedules and assist educators
*Ensures the running of the daycare centre by assisting the director
*Promote healthy lifestyles

Qualifications and requirements:
*Diploma in Early Childhood Education or equivalent
*Supportive and collaborative leadership style
*Bilingualism is an asset
*Strong organizational and communication skills
*Experience with young children
*Certified First Aid and CPR or willing to take the training
*Criminal background check in the vulnerable sector
