POSITION SUMMARY
The Food Security Manager will report to the Director of Nation Rebuilding and oversee the management and administration of the food portfolio within the department. This is a strategic role responsible for promoting food security and tackling issues related to food insecurity and traditional food access in the region. It requires a collaborative approach to work with various stakeholders’ partners, including government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and community groups to develop and implement effective solutions. The successful candidate will play a critical role in improving the food security situation in the region and positively impacting the lives of Omushkegowuk communities.
REQUIREMENTS
· College or University level education in Social Work, Community Development, Human Services, Policy or related field with lived experience also may be considered
· Previous work experience in managing a team and financial budgets an asset
· Knowledge of food security issues and socioeconomic factors relating to food insecurity
· Fluency in any of the Omushkegowuk dialects is considered an asset
· Ability to work independently and as a team
· Possess excellent organizational and time management skills
· Grant writing skills and knowledge of application processes are a strong asset
· Possess basic computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
· Must have a valid “G” drivers’ license
