Morin Construction is a forestry and construction company offering civil construction, road construction and maintenance, mining services, forestry harvesting, clearing, grubbing, brush cutting and hauling throughout Northeastern and Northwestern Ontario. Due to an influx of projects, we are currently seeking to add experienced Supervisors to our team. Depending on experience, Supervisors provide on-site coordination for all stages of projects such as overseeing field operations, equipment and material, job site safety, scheduling, coordinating subcontractors and quality control.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Organize, coordinate and supervise the work of foremen, and/or employees on construction projects
• Organize and lead productive project meetings (mandatory safety meetings, owner/client meetings, less formal on-site meetings)
• Prepare and maintain the construction schedule
• Daily estimating of materials and staffing/labour required for the project
• Interview, hire, and train employees, including developing employees into their next role
• Maintain a safe work site by following company standards and policies and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Maintain solid working relationship with owners, administrators, consultants and employees
• Use knowledge and experience to offer alternatives and solutions that are economical when problems or changes occur

Skills, Experience and Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 or more years experience as Supervisor or Foreman
• Minimum of 5 or more years construction experience, specifically in infrastructure
• Valid G license
• Pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (ex. Word, Excel)
• Familiar with plan design and construction guidelines
• Planning and organization skills
• Great communication skills
• Demonstrate effective leadership, conflict resolution skills
• Oral & written French language skills considered an asset
• Post-secondary education in civil, engineering, construction or project management an asset.
