Northern College is seeking a Professor, Computer Engineering Technician in our School of Trades, Technology & Apprenticeship. The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment. Experience with Mac-OS, Windows Powershell, with Python programming, Java, PHP, SQL and experience in web application development and/or mobile application development, project management experience and familiarity with the software development life cycle is an asset. In addition, C++CPP, OCPJP, and a Masters in a related field of study would be an asset.

Reporting to the Dean, Trades, Technology & Apprenticeship the successful candidate will be expected to act as an academic advisor to students in the program, participate as a leader and effective team member working in groups at the college, create a positive teaching and learning environment, using a variety of strategies and materials in the multi-modal delivery of courses. The incumbent should embody a commitment to student success and professional development and demonstrate capacity for leadership in a multi-cultural organization. In addition, the successful candidate must ensure currency and relevance of the teaching material and assessment techniques, must participate in recruitment and program promotion initiatives, and participate in professional development activities at Northern College relevant to his/her own needs.

What you will need to be considered:
- Two (2) or Three (3) year diploma in Computer Engineering or a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science including programming courses, or a related field;
- Five (5) years of experience in networking administration or programming environment; and
- If candidate possesses a diploma, the following certifications are also required: Cisco: CCNA – Routing and Switching, CCNA – Security, CompTIA: Linux, CompTIA: A+, Microsoft: MCSA, VMware: VCP6-DCV.
The incumbent may be required to provide a criminal reference check.
