operations team:
Production Miner – ITH Driller

Alamos Gold’s Young-Davidson is a low-cost, long-life operation and one of Canada’s largest underground
gold mines. It is located near the town of Matachewan centrally located between Timmins, Kirkland Lake,
North Bay and Sudbury, Ontario. The 2020 completion of a highly automated, lower mine expansion has
resulted in Young-Davidson increasing production and generating strong free cash flow. With a large
Mineral Reserve base, it will serve as Alamos’ foundation for growth for many years to come. This is a very

Reporting to the Mine Operations Supervisor (Production), the successful candidate will be responsible
performing a variety of underground tasks both safely and efficiently.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Underground drill site set-up;
o Installing services (air/water pipe, electrical cable, ventilation);
o Blowing/Cleaning bench manually;
o Cleaning/Scraping bench using a scooptram;
o Moving in tools and gear required for drilling using tractor, scooptram and manually (rod
racks, tool boxes, bits, oil and grease pails, casings, Eris panel etc..);
o Pulling/Securing services from headers to drill;
o Connecting services to drill;
• Scaling and doing pre-operation inspection of drill and site;
• Undercut inspection with BT barricade signature every shift;

• Filling 5-point card and maintain accurate operating records, including daily drill reports and
inventory logs;
• Provide 2 hour call in when drilling context requires operator to work alone;
• Drill setup using provided prints (being able to read prints and follow drilling directives);
• Perform drilling using ITH drill both manually and remotely whenever required;
• Manually inserting/pulling rods while drilling;
• Changing bits, hammers, saver-sub and other drilling consumables/attachments as drilling
requires;
• Manually cutting PVC casing to the right length and install as production holes are being drilled;
• Install canister reaming head on drill and perform slot hole reaming when required;
• Manually clean holes with compressed air hose or water hose;
• Clean holes with ITH drill;
• Underground drill take-down, move, general operational maintenance on drill;
• Contribute to and establish effective workplace relationships;
o Provide drill hole audit sheets before drill moves out of stope;
o Provide support to blasting crews when required; and
• All other tasks as directed by supervisor.

• Experience operating the following equipment:
o Scooptram;
o Toyota;
o Forklift/tractor;
o ITH drill; and
o Scissor deck.
Schedule: 10 hours, 7/7 rotation
Pay/Shift Range: $37.70 CAD - $46.14 CAD
