A career in the Ontario Public Service (OPS) is driven by a passion for creating a stronger Ontario. If you share this ambition, we are fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where employees have the tools and opportunities you need to be fulfilled and inspired to move Ontario forward.
In correctional facilities, Maintenance and Food service professionals play a critical role in safety, security, and daily operations. Maintenance teams ensure that essential systems—such as plumbing, electrical, and security infrastructure—function reliably, reducing risks and maintaining a secure environment for staff and inmates. Their preventative work helps avoid disruptions that could impact safety or programming. Food service staff are equally vital, providing consistent, nutritious meals that support health and stability within the institution. Their work requires precision, planning, and adherence to strict safety standards, ensuring meals are prepared and delivered efficiently in a highly regulated setting. Together, these roles uphold the foundation of a safe, orderly, and humane correctional environment, enabling staff to focus on rehabilitation and public safety.
If you would like to speak to us regarding Maintenance and Food Service opportunities within corrections, we will be at various Level Up! Skilled Trades Career Fairs across Ontario.
